Before you donate

Take clear photos and note their condition, dimensions, and any damage. Photograph anything you want to remember, too.

Ask the organization about the specific items, current needs, and drop-off instructions.

Once acceptance is confirmed, plan your drop-off or ask ATX TrashMasters about a hauling quote.

SAFE Austin
SAFE Austin accepts furniture donations for survivors and families getting back on their feet. Email inkind@safeaustin.org about furniture and confirm acceptance before arranging a donation.
Oxford House
Support recovery housing through financial donations or by offering furniture, appliances, kitchenware, and other household items. Contact the intended home to confirm its current needs.
Goodwill
Review Goodwill’s guidance for donating clothing, household goods, and electronics. Confirm accepted items with your local donation location before loading your items.

Have items to donate?
Whenever practical we keep usable items out of the landfill: separating donations from disposal, loading them, and delivering to local charities and donation centers. Acceptance is always up to the receiving organization.
Ask about hauling availability after confirming acceptance with the receiving organization.
